I spend a lot of time, over days and hours end on, constantly reconstructing, building the layers as I deep dive into the work. The process is intuitive; the truth often revealed in the final work.

“I really enjoy transforming my photographs of the everyday into expressions of art; building layers using different mediums and techniques.”
PAIN, Mixed Media on Archival, 27” x 30”
Untold V Series, 30” x 23.5”
As I walked with my camera through the intricate alleys of Mumbai’s Dhobi Ghat (open laundromat) I thought about the popular idiom ‘to wash one’s dirty linen in public’…
I created this Mixed Media work to speak about the abuse of women in society, particularly within the confines of their own families. Their anguish often goes unnoticed. These women, silently enduring their suffering, perform mundane tasks like laundry, yet struggle to cleanse themselves of their hidden traumas and pains. The act of washing, I realized, does not eradicate pain; no matter how diligently one scrubs, the stains of trauma linger. I hope to engage the viewers with delicate art effects and hidden stories in this work.
