“I found in printmaking a medium that resonates perfectly with my curiosity and experimental nature.”
Santosh discovered her love for etching, aquatint, lithography, linocut and woodcut while studying Fine Arts at College Of Art, Delhi. She began pursuing Printmaking feverishly ; attending Printmaking workshops (organised by USIS) and participating in group shows in India and UK. Soon her prints gainied recognition and she was included in prominent artist institutions such as Group 8, Shilpi Chakra and AIFACS. She was also being awarded for her Graphic works by established art academies and also held her first solo show while still in college!
Her passion earned her a Fellowship in Netherlands, at Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam, awarded by the Education Ministry of India. This international art platform took her art across the globe. She held solo shows in Amsterdam and Paris and participated in western pacific print exhibition, in Melbourne and group show in New York. Santosh’s place as an eminent Printmaker was established by critiques such as the Dutch art critic and philosopher Drs. Hans Redeker, who described her works as ‘lyrical-abstract landscapes’.
